After 30 minutes of "are we there yet" from Mira (on a 45 minute drive) we reached the Grand Canyon this morning. Sree and I had been there before, but it's still just as overwhelming as the first time we saw it. The kids were both blown away. It's actually a little disorienting when you first lay eyes on it. We're all fascinated by the history of the earth laid out before us. We spent the day riding the shuttle from view-point to view-point and walked along the rim some. There are a lot of areas where there are no rails, and Mira's comfort level around the rim made me uncomfortable at times.
The new glass walk out area is a several hour drive from where we are, so we'll save that for another trip.
