Sedona is beautiful, but the town itself is awfully commercialized. We were glad we hadn't planned to spend any more time there and got out as quickly as we could. The drive from Sedona to Flagstaff was breathtaking, and we stopped along the way to play in a river.
This was a highlight of the whole vacation for the kids.
We made it to Flagstaff and discovered our hotel was on Route 66. Thanks to the movie Cars, the kids are really excited by this fact. We found a Target to replace the toothbrush head I dropped in the toilet this morning then explored the town of Flagstaff. It's surrounded by mountains and has a great college-town feel. Tomorrow we'll spend the day at the Grand Canyon, which is about a 45 minute drive from here, then spend another night in Flagstaff.
