Resident Genius

Yesterday Ryan was talking about quarks. When I asked how he'd learned about them, he replied "oh, I'm a genius when nobody is looking."

We've been taking our dogs for walks every evening. There's a really nice park with a creek, soccer field, basketball court, and playground just a couple of blocks from here. Every single time we go out, we end up stopping for conversations with several different sets of people. This probably wouldn't be happening if we didn't have dogs...they're real ice breakers, but still...even with dogs I don't think we would have experienced this kind of community feeling in any place we have lived before. I get the impression that most of the people we see in the park are "regulars" who are used to seeing each other and recognize when someone is new.
