Holes

My good friend and sort of neighbor, Mary, is one of my heroes. She has a house that's comfortable for people of all ages and sat calmly by providing more shovels as needed yesterday when a horde of children (mine included) attempted to dig to the center of the universe for 5 hours. I don't think you can tell it in these photos, but they dug pathways and carved chairs and stairs out of dirt. There were two sub-holes large enough to fit the smallest of the children. It was a big, big project. There's something magical about dirt. The kids all worked cooperatively for hours without a single conflict.
