I wonder what has caused the end of Christmas carolers. I imagine a large part of it is political correctness...not wanting to offend people of other faiths or no faith...but there are certainly other factors. It's too bad, because it's a lot of fun. We went caroling last week with a group of friends (23 of us altogether). We all met at my house and walked around the surrounding neighborhoods. Only about five people came to the door to listen, which was probably fortunate considering we hadn't practiced before hand. Next year, we'll get together to at least decide on songs before we head out. : )

I agree - it is a very sad tradition to lose! We planned to go this year and never managed it, but we will do it in future years. I'm glad you guys had such a great time! I hope more families pick up this tradition and bring it back. :)
