R&R

Saturday I had my first full day to myself since Ryan was born 10 1/2 years ago. It started at 9:30 am, when I left to meet Nichole, Augustine and Katherine for a massage at the Texas Massage Institute. From there we went to lunch at Fadi's then to a couple of shoe stores. It was Augustine's birthday, and she wanted to shop for shoes. When I got back to my car, Sree called and asked if I could come home to mediate between the kids. He said they couldn't agree on what to do. When I got home, all seemed fine. I took another shower, went to the book store, then went for dinner and mini-golf with another friend. It was really nice to have a whole day for myself.

Sunday, Sree packed up a lot of stuff for his new house and emptied out his office. The kids and I went to see Hairspray with the intention of being gone while he was packing up. Unfortunately we got home when he was only halfway finished. Sunday evening and a big part of Monday the kids were extra testy with each other, but they seem to have smoothed out a bit since.

Sree has the kids Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturday, so yesterday I went for my first ever pedicure. I realize now that I probably should not have neglected myself so much since the kids were born. I didn't really feel I had a choice, but I'm enjoying having the choice now.

Oh! And yesterday my cousin Jennifer came over with her baby Corbin. He's 7 months old and has changed so much since I last saw him. He's still adorable though.

Ryan has rediscovered his Zome Building Tools, and they've been occupying a lot of his time lately:
