6 Mile Bike Ride

Today we went with two other families on a six mile bike ride! This was Mira and Ryan's first big bike ride. I don't think either of them has ever gone further than a half a mile on a bicycle before. Denton is full of great outdoor opportunities, though, so we went to a great trail that goes from Denton to Lake Ray Roberts. We rode three miles, stopped for a picnic and a swim in the stream (which is part of the Trinity River system), then rode three miles back. From there we went to our friends' house for a 7th birthday celebration. We all had a great time, and the kids were really proud of themselves for making the long bike ride. We're looking forward to many more in the near future.
