In spite of the 3.5 hour drive to go 22 miles on Thursday, it's been a great week. I got a lot of Christmas shopping for the kids done on Wednesday, and they're extremely excited that the Christmas countdown has begun.
Tiffany made her much-anticipated arrival on Friday, and since it was cold at the park I invited all the Girl Scouts and their mothers to come to our house instead of continuing to shiver there. We also have Sage visiting for the weekend, so there were 6 adults and 12 kids til around 6:00, and the last people didn't leave til 11:30. I enjoy having a lot of friends in my house, and this group has become so much more of a community than just a Girl Scout troop. We're planning to get together again on Monday so we can get as much time as possible with Tiffany and her daughters before she has to leave on Thursday.
Saturday Sree picked up all 3 kids (Ryan, Mira and Sage) and I went to lunch and to see a play with a friend. We saw Pygmalian at Theater Three, and I was completely impressed by George Bernard Shaw's writing. It takes a lot for humor to withstand the test of time, and the play was written in 1912. Theater Three is an excellent, intimate venue too.
I think the kids are enjoying their time with their dad more and more as he gets more used to spending time with them, and I like having a little piece of my life that's my own.
Twice today I've mistaken Sage for Ryan. Once I was in the kitchen and Sage opened the tape drawer about two feet from me. I thought "hmm. Sage sure is comfortable here. I wonder how he knew where the duct tape is kept." Then he walked away and said something, and it turned out to be Ryan! The other time I mistook Sage's voice for Ryan's. If he thought it was strange that I called him Sweetie he didn't show it. : )
