Mira's birthday

Mira started her birthday bright and early at 7:30 am by opening her gifts from Ryan and me. She's a lot of fun to watch when she opens presents, because she gets extremely excited and animated. She got *everything* she wanted. After that, we met friends at the mall with the intention of everyone getting another round of ear piercings. Mira had been planning this for months, and she was very excited. When we got there, though, the piercer asked all of them to take out their earrings. When Mira took out hers, her ear started bleeding. She'd had in a pair of silver earrings for about a week, and she must be allergic to silver. Seeing that blood put an end to her excitement, and she changed her mind about getting pierced. Instead, she watched five others in our party (including me) get pierced. She was worried that her friends would be mad at her, but everyone was really kind, of course. We then met Jay, Toni & Tyler at Mr. Chopsticks for a late lunch and came back to the house for homemade peanut butter cups, homemade ice cream, and homemade chocolate chip cookies. For dinner we meet Sree at Mira's favorite Indian restaurant.

She had a really great day, and that's what every parent wants for their kid's birthday, right?
