We went to see Spiderwick Chronicles this afternoon then to Mr. Chopsticks, where we ran into my brother and his family, for dinner. As soon as we walked in the door at home, I checked the pantry for chocolate chips. Peanut butter cups were looming large in our minds. I said "there are enough chocolate chips for us to make two for each of us." Without missing a breath, Mira said "Ryan and I can each have three if you give yours up." I gave her the look reserved for people who try to take my chocolate, and she said "what? I'm just sayin'. Just doing a little math."
The movie was really good. I felt a little squirmy when the story line turned to the father having left to live with another woman, but the kids didn't seem bothered by it. We also saw Penelope on Friday, and it was great.
Did I mention that the kids are taking tennis classes? The town we live in offers tons of activities just for homeschoolers through the rec center. They're currently taking tennis, and they're signed up for a couple of one-session-only science classes. Ryan is also taking Elementary Cartooning. He loves to draw cartoons, though his current obsession is figuring out how to film stop motion animation so he can make some Lego Indiana Jones movies.
